Create companies in batch
Create up to 100 companies in the workspace, each optionally added to one or more groups. Each record takes the same fields as create a company and is processed on its own: a record that fails, for instance because it names a group you cannot access, does not prevent the others from being created. See batch requests for the 100-record limit and how to read the response. Each company comes back in full, as in the response of create a company, and operation says what the record did:
  • created: no company had this name, so a new one was created.
  • updated: a company already had this name, so that company was updated instead, as create a company does. Its fields are replaced by the ones the record provides, and the record’s groups, emails, phones, URLs, addresses and multiple-choice values are added to the existing ones.
Records of one request sharing a name end up as one company, as if they had been sent one after the other to create a company: the first record creates the company and the next ones update it. All of them return the same company.
Names match exactly, case included: Acme, acme and ACME are three different companies. When importing a list whose names are not consistently cased, normalize them first, or each casing creates its own company.
A record without a name always creates a new company, without a name. A record that succeeded but could not be fully set up, for instance because the company could not be added to one of its groups, carries a warnings list explaining what was not applied.
